Might I also note the contracts mode is far more robust than what absolution used to offer: In the mean time HITMAN(2016) has been available for a couple of years now, It still has it's contracts servers available because ioi owns those servers and has simply updated their service policy to comply with GDPR guidelines. Feel free to complain to the EU about their law changes or to Square for not letting ioi fix the servers to be compliant.
Hitman absolution online game play update#
If Square (ioi's former publisher) ever releases the servers to ioi (an independent company), ioi is willing to update the servers to meet GDPR guidelines. In the meantime, we are continuing to work on solutions for the server and restoring the DLC for sale.įinally, it’s extremely important for us to underline that these changes will have no impact on HITMAN and this temporary server closure is due to factors outside of our control. To summarise, we will be temporarily closing the Hitman Absolution Contracts Mode server before the end of May and removing the option to purchase Contracts Mode DLC for the game until further notice. To be compliant with the GDPR changes on May 25th and to give our players advanced warning, as well as the time that it will take to remove the DLC from sale, we needed to make a tough decision. We want to keep the servers running and we have been investigating various ways to make that possible. That ownership lies with the game’s original publisher.

This change has been forced upon us due to a combination of incoming GDPR rules and the fact that we do not have ownership of the Absolution Contracts Mode servers. We need to temporarily close the Hitman Absolution servers for Contracts Mode and remove all Contracts Mode DLC for sale from all platforms. We wanted to give you a heads-up about an incoming change to Hitman Absolution.

There's over 30 other topics already explaining the issue, guess you couldn't be bothered to read even a single post on the forums, so here it is again and again and again:
